Pump Fitness vs KFitness vs Anytime Fitness: Which Gym Chain Fits You?

22 October 2026 Amirul Hakim

If you’ve searched for a gym anywhere in the Klang Valley, three names keep coming up: Pump Fitness, KFitness and Anytime Fitness. They’re not really competing for the same person, though. One is a sprawling 24-hour network, one is a small chain of very large gyms, and one sits in between. Here’s how they actually compare, using the data from every branch in our directory.

The numbers at a glance

Pump Fitness KFitness Anytime Fitness
Branches we list 8 3 69
Cities covered 6 3 20
Average Google rating 4.91 4.90 4.45
Total Google reviews 5,572 3,415 13,595
Branches open 24 hours 1 0 65
Branches listing a sauna 3 0 0

Anytime Fitness: if you want a gym everywhere, at any hour

Anytime Fitness is in a different league for reach. We list 69 branches across all 20 cities we cover, from Anytime Fitness Damansara Jaya — the chain’s most-reviewed branch on our list — to outposts in Ipoh, Butterworth and Johor Bahru. And 65 of those 69 are open 24 hours, usually through keyfob access after staffed hours.

The trade-off is consistency. Because it’s a franchise, quality varies by branch: ratings across our listings range from 3.1 to 5.0, and the chain-wide average of 4.45 is noticeably lower than the other two. Membership is required at every branch — none of them sell day passes at the front desk — and independent sources have reported monthly rates in the region of RM195 to RM205, though the chain itself is clear that pricing varies by branch and promotion. Confirm with the branch you’d actually use.

Best for: shift workers, frequent travellers, and anyone who wants the option of training at 3am or in another city.

KFitness: if you want a huge floor and don’t mind the drive

KFitness runs just three branches — Petaling Jaya, Klang and Puchong — but two of them are among the most-reviewed gyms anywhere in our directory, with 1,610 and 1,532 Google reviews respectively, both at 4.9. That kind of volume usually means a big, busy floor with a lot of equipment and a loyal crowd.

None of the three is open 24 hours, and none lists a sauna on Google, so this is a gym you go to for the training itself rather than the extras.

Best for: people who live or work near one of the three branches and want a large, well-equipped floor with a serious training atmosphere.

Pump Fitness: if you want the highest-rated experience

Pump Fitness has the best average rating of the three — 4.91 across eight branches — and that’s not propped up by one standout location. Pump Fitness Cheras leads with 1,531 reviews, Pump Fitness Subang has 1,193, and Setia Alam holds a perfect 5.0 across 865. It’s the most consistent of the three.

It’s also the only one of the three where some branches list a sauna: Tun Razak, Kepong and C180 in Cheras. Only Tun Razak runs 24 hours, though, so check hours if you train late.

Best for: people who value a consistently well-run gym and a few extra amenities over round-the-clock access.

How to choose

Ask yourself three questions:

  1. When do you train? If it’s ever outside 6am–11pm, Anytime Fitness is the only one of the three that reliably works.
  2. Where are you, and where else do you go? Anytime Fitness wins if you move between cities. If you’re based near one of KFitness’s three branches, that’s hard to beat for size.
  3. How much do ratings matter to you? Pump Fitness and KFitness both average above 4.9. With Anytime Fitness, check the specific branch’s rating and recent reviews, not the brand’s reputation.

None of these chains publishes one fixed national price, so whichever you lean towards, visit the branch, ask for a tour, and get the current rate in writing before you sign. If none of the three is close to you, browse every gym we list nationwide — some of the highest-rated venues in our directory are independents.
